Union Jack Bunting for Street Parties and Matchdays
Nothing turns a road into an occasion like bunting between the lamp posts. We're adding union jack bunting to the store — register below to hear the day it lands, and use the metre guide so you order the right length first time.
The classic bunting mistake is ordering by guesswork and coming up two houses short on the day. Measure the run you want to cover, then use this guide.
How much union jack bunting does the job take?
| What you're dressing | Typical length | Tip |
|---|---|---|
| Terraced house frontage | 8–10 m | Swag it — a gentle droop uses ~20% more but looks far better than taut |
| Garden fence or patio | 15–20 m | Run it at eye level or above so it catches the light |
| Pub or shop frontage | 10–15 m | Frame the signage rather than covering it |
| Residential street, both sides | 30 m + | Split the cost between houses — one order, one delivery fee |
Add a metre at each end for tying off, and go longer rather than shorter — leftover bunting always finds a doorway.

Registrations also decide what we stock first — lengths, and fabric vs PVC — so you're genuinely shaping the range.

Bunting questions
When will union jack bunting be in stock?
We're finalising the range now. Register your interest with your email and you'll hear the day it goes on sale — registering also tells us how much to stock first.
How many metres of bunting do I need?
As a guide: a terraced house frontage takes 8–10 metres, a garden fence or patio 15–20 metres, a pub frontage 10–15 metres, and both sides of a typical residential street 30 metres or more. Measure the run and add a metre each end for fixing.
Fabric or plastic bunting — which is better?
Plastic (PVC) is cheaper and shrugs off rain, but looks it. Fabric drapes and photographs far better and can be reused for years if dried before storing. Tell us which you'd buy when you register — it directly shapes what we stock.
What can I use instead of bunting right now?
A row of proper flags. Our 3ft x 2ft Union Jack and England flags are £4.99 each with flat £2.99 delivery per order — a flag on every other house reads bolder from the street than plastic bunting, and they're reusable for every occasion after.
